Imperial Tobacco to invest in the expansion of the Kolporter chain

According to a statement by newspaper stand chain Kolporter, Imperial Tobacco Polska – part of one of the biggest tobacco companies in the world, will be involved in co-financing of the expansion of the said chain and cooperate on creating displays for its tobacco products.

“Pursuant to the agreement signed between the two companies, we will cooperate on the expansion of the +top-press+ newspaper stand chain, to be located in shopping centers and other attractive places. This year we plan to open over 50 new newspaper corners,” says Mateusz Wiśniewski, head of Kolporter Sieci Handlowe.

Kolporter also plans to cooperate with other partners in different product categories. Currently, advanced talks are held with mobile phone operators, which may soon result in business cooperation. “We are consistently implementing our expansion strategy and in the coming months we are planning to introduce changes in the structure of our product assortment in order to better reflect our customers’ expectations and consumption trends. We will also introduce new services that will increase our sales revenues,” added Mr. Wiśniewski.
